About Me
My name is Shelby, and I'm the maker behind Magwayen Jewelry. Since I was a kid I have always liked making things with my hands and learning how to use new tools. Recently I have made an effort to learn more about my Filipino heritage, and this learning of family and national histories has inspired me to bring those stories into my work.
By messing around in my home studio, watching other talented metalsmiths on Youtube, and taking an odd class at Pratt Fine Arts Center, I continue to learn new skills, refine old ones, and define what Magwayen Jewelry is.
I make all my jewelry by hand in a little shop behind the house I share with my partner and our dog and cat.
All jewelry is made on the ancestral and occupied land of the Duwamish Tribe.
